William Ortiz
This fall William will be a sophomore at LBCC pursuing an Associates of Science in Agriculture.  Following high school he attended LBCC and began working towards his Associate of Science.  William was raised on his family's farm.  They produced a variety of different crops for seed as well as peppermint for oil, and he assisted with the planting, harvesting and managing the crops from planting to harvest.   Managing the farm and going around and meeting the different farmers around the valley gives a different perspective about agriculture and the seed industry and helps better understand it as well.

After college, William plans on becoming a Agronomist, focusing on assisting farms in improving seed production, and improving the sustainability of those farms.  He also hopes to help the agricultural community and the urban communities come to a better understanding to benefit both communities.
